V. Marc Fort

V. Marc Fort (aka DJ Jam Up & Jelly Tight, aka DJ Space Cadet) is a radio producer and host at KUT News, KUTX 98.9, and KOOP Radio 91.7. Marc has more than 30 years of music experience performing in more than 10 bands (Schatzi, The Fuckemos, bo bud greene, Moving Panoramas) that have toured with and opened for various musical acts all across North America – and around the world. While playing in those bands, Marc has worked as a recording artist for various indie labels including Last Beat, Unclean, Redemption and Doghouse Records, as well as major labels such as Scotti Brothers and Hollywood/Mammoth Records (Disney Music Group). Marc began his career at age 17 as a staff photographer at the Austin American-Statesman and the Denver Post; then went on to work as a staff entertainment writer & arts critic-at-large for the American-Statesman.

Marc volunteers his time on the KOOP Radio Board of Directors, as well as with the advisory committee of Austin Community College’s School of Music Business, Performance & Technology. Additionally, Marc has been a featured speaker at the North American Music Cities Summit, at Almedalen Week in Sweden, SXSW, CMJ, the Recording Academy, … as well as at various music festivals, conferences, and universities across the United States and Europe.
